One More Day Is Enough

There were days when the only goal I had was to make it to tomorrow. Not to fix my life. Not to have a plan. Just to make it.

I want to say this clearly because somebody needs to hear it: on your hardest days, one more day is enough. You don't owe anybody a big comeback. You just have to stay.

When I look back now, from a warm apartment, I see that every single one of those days mattered. Each one was a brick. I didn't know I was building anything, but I was.

Kindness Is a Quiet Kind of Rescue

Being seen as a person mattered more than anyone could have known. When you're homeless, a lot of people look right past you. Not always out of meanness. Sometimes they're busy, sometimes they're scared, sometimes they just don't know what to say. Showing Up When Nobody Knows

During the hardest part of my story, I was working a fast food job. I put on the uniform, took the orders, smiled at customers, and then went back to having no home at the end of the shift.
